Privacy
What Aether Journal uses to put your onchain record in context.
Public wallet information
We use your wallet address and public blockchain records to display transactions, holdings, positions and returns. We obtain this information from blockchain and market-data services, and may store indexed activity, portfolio snapshots and calculated records so they can be retrieved efficiently. Blockchain records are public and cannot be erased from the blockchain by Aether Journal.
Signing in and account access
We use wallet-signature verification, short-lived login challenges and a session cookie to sign you in. Session and access records associate the wallet with the features and history available to it. Your private keys and seed phrase are not needed or requested.
Information you add
Your wallet name, avatar and journal notes are currently saved in this browser. Acquisition costs and other incoming-transfer details you submit are stored with your wallet’s records on our service to support your calculations. They are not written to the blockchain. If you email us, we receive the information you include in that message.
Who receives information
Our hosting and data infrastructure process requests needed to provide the service. Blockchain and pricing providers supply the underlying records. Connecting a third-party wallet can involve its own provider or connection service. External sites, including explorers, receive requests when you open their links and have their own privacy notices.
Browser storage and tracking
We use cookies and browser storage for sign-in, wallet connection choices, appearance and personal notes. This alpha does not include advertising or an optional analytics tracker. See Cookies & storage for the controls and storage types used by the site.
Keeping and removing information
Session cookies expire or are removed at sign-out. Browser preferences, profiles and notes remain until you clear them or the site’s stored data. Signing out does not by itself erase your notes, indexed blockchain records or submitted acquisition details. Contact us for questions about server-side records or a deletion request; we will explain what can be removed and any records we need to retain.
Your choices
You can use the public site without connecting a wallet and choose whether to add notes or acquisition details. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or to raise a privacy concern. Your applicable data-protection rights depend on where you live.
